It gives me great pride and pleasure to invite you all to the tenth anniversary of Showcomotion.
Thanks to you – the great Sheffield public - we have grown from modest beginnings in 1999 into the country’s premier film festival for children.
As ever, I’m delighted to be offering you a programme packed full of wonderful films from around the world, some great family films you might have missed first time round and some fabulous special events to celebrate our tenth year. Don’t forget to make use of our great value festival passes. As a measure of our growing stature, we have been awarded funds by the European Film Festival fund for the first time and are also pleased to welcome The Prince’s Foundation For Children & The Arts as funders.
As is customary at anniversaries, some thank yous: thanks to Jay Arnold and Screen Yorkshire for long-term and much valued funding; to all at the Showroom/Workstation for their support; and thanks to Becky Parry for creating the festival in the first place!
The Showroom Cinema has been a major sponsor of Showcomotion from its inception and so special thanks must go to Ian Wild for all his support.
